Celebrities Lead The Trend For Disney Baby Names

Uncategorized

It is only a matter of time before you are introduced to a baby Moana, Nala, or Mirabelle, as Disney-themed baby names are becoming increasingly popular, thanks to celebrities leading the trend.

Already this year, documentary maker Stacey Dooley revealed she called her daughter Minnie, while reality TV star Molly-Mae Hague named her baby Bambi.

Although the monikers have divided opinion among the public, BabyCentre’s managing director Sarah Redshaw said this could be the start of a new trend in baby names.

Speaking with the Mirror, she said: “It’s a possibility that parents may take the lead from celebrities and their recent Disney-inspired names.”

Other names Disney fans could call their little ones in 2023 include Aurora, Winnie, Flora and Belle for girls, and Sebastian, Felix, Rex, Remy, Hector, and Woody for boys.

Of course, some Disney-themed names have long been popular, from Alice and Jasmine to Louis and Peter.

Founder of The Kid Collective Laura Davies told Marie Claire it is a nice idea to grow up knowing their name was chosen based on their parents’ favourite characters.

She added: “It’s a great way to find unique and lesser-known baby names.”

Of course, there are some more unusual choices for Disney names, such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Buzz from Toy Story, Chip from Beauty and the Beast, Dash from The Incredibles, and Dory from Finding Nemo.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the names of babies who are booked in for newborn photography sessions in Bristol this year will be!
