If you are expecting a baby very soon, thoughts will be focused on a range of things you will need to do once mum and tot are back home. There will be piles of nappies, a cot and baby carrier, lots of cute clothes and no doubt plenty of teddies awaiting them when they arrive.
You may also be thinking about how you introduce them to the world and while a spontaneous picture posted on social media will do the initial job, a set of beautiful images taken in a baby photography studio will provide a lasting memory of this precious part of their early life.
Any picture of them at this time may raise a smile and stir memories for years to come, but to really push the boat out, some creativity and novelty will provide something truly exceptional.
One way to do this is to have them pictured in a series of poses. You may have them swaddled, with the sense of comfort from being wrapped up in blankts, or the tushy up look with a naked body side-on with its soft wrinkles, or various poses with their hands under their chin or out in front in a frog pose.
These are all classical poses but you can vary them with some funky ideas. Try dressing them in bright colours, or maybe themes such as a football or rugby team’s livery, or some other visual manifestation of an interest you may have.
Indeed, these can be the focus of pictures involving Mum and Dad holding the baby. While you could choose simple, plain clothes that match a pastel background and emphasise the baby, you can also make it a riot of colour, themes and novelties.
Fr example, imagine you are a couple that likes walking. You could dress up in hiking gear and have your newborn in a walker’s bobble hat. Or you may go for a theme based on a favourite film, such as dressing up as Star Wars characters.
What you choose is up to you, but with some creativity, you can create personalised photos that reflect not just a new life, but a feature of the home that they have been born into.
